There’s nothing more adorable that newborn pets, but if you’re not quick, the time will quickly pass and you may lament not having treasured memories of this very special time. Consider getting a pet portrait shoot in the first few weeks your new family member arrives.

Your older pets are likely to be an established member of your family with many shared memories of your lives together. Routines, habits and personality are what you will remember them by, so why not capture them at this unique moment in time and have an everlasting memory to cherish.

We recognise that your human best friends are just as important in your social life as your pet is to your personal life. Why not have your photo with your pet, another with your friends or a glamour shot to compliment your portrait collection.

We can shoot at your home

Your pet will feel most comfortable in their natural environment, which allows us to capture moments that are more natural, playful and impactful. We are a fully mobile studio service, which means when we come to your home you and your pet will be far more relaxed, resulting in better photos and a fun day of shooting.

We can shoot outdoors

Some breeds of pets are more at home in the outdoors. Working dogs, Retrievers, Assistance dogs, Hunters, Farm Cats and obviously Horses all relish in the great outdoors. Capturing wonderful portraits in these naturally lit, naturally decorated environments provide some of the best photo opportunities available.

Your complimentary consultation

You know your pet’s personality better than anyone. We will work with you to work out the best way to capture your pet’s character. Breed, Habits, Interests, Daily routines and Interactivity make up the personality of your pet. We will discuss these in detail with you and also seek your creative input as to the best possible environment options.

Our process

Best Friend Portraits will bring all the necessary photographic equipment required for your pet’s portrait session. During one of our consultation phone calls we will work with you to plan the session timing, location and setup options to best take advantage of your environment.

After the shoot we will process the images and prepare a shortlist of the best photos for you viewing pleasure. We use the latest photography post-processing techniques, which will give your photos a stunning finish that you will be proud to show and share.

You will have the opportunity to purchase prints, mounted canvases, posters and other unique print styles in sizes that range from 4x6” up to 24x36”. We can even do larger format prints and speciality products at your request. Payment can be made with most popular credit cards, cash or electronic transfer.

Our fees

Whether we come to you or you come to our studio, the fee for your one hour photo shoot is only $150. The session fee includes one complimentary 8x10” print and low resolution digital files for sharing on Facebook and with friends and family.

Travel within 20km of Melbourne’s CBD comes at no charge. Any extra travel is charged at $20 for every 30 minutes of travel (or part there-of).

Additional prints can be ordered at any time in the future.
